Almost forty years after its debut and with over 35 million copies sold Holy Seiya it remains one of the public’s most popular shonen today. Soon, the iconic work started by Masasmi Kurumada in 1985 will be expanded with a new manga spin-off series, of which the very first details have been revealed.
The pages of Akita Shoten’s Japanese magazine Champion RED revealed that there will be a new one in the next issue of the magazine, due out on September 16th Spin-off manga by Saint Seiyabetter known as the Knights of the Zodiac.
The new manga series based on the Sensei Kurumada franchise is titled Saint Seiya: Kaio Saiki – Resurrection of Posiedonand as you can see from the title, it will revive the character of Poseidon, the feared god of the sea who once fought the knights loyal to Athena.
In August, Knights of the Zodiac – Battle for Sanctuary made its debut on Crunchyroll, but soon the work will be enriched with a new piece. Dealing with the manga series is Tsunaki Sudawhich will lead to the rebirth of the Emperor of the Sea as the saints of Athena are busy fighting Hades.
At the moment it is still unclear whether we will see the famous Knights of Neptune again in this new story seven generals of the abyss whose scale armor almost matched the gold cloths.
