Nearly forty years after the historic Crisis on Infinite Earths, DC Comics offers a new adventure starring Clark Kent, set in the time of the DC Universe’s first true crossover. Superman: Space Age will be a three-issue miniseries in which the Man of Steel will grapple with the discovery of the inevitable arrival of the end of the world.
“It’s my dream projecthe explains Mark Russell, author of Superman: Space Age. “Not only because I get to work with a genius like Mike Allred, but also because I’ve always found Superman to be a philosophically intriguing character that forces us to ask ourselves: How different would the world be if we had decided to be the best version of ourselves?“.
“SUPER happy to finally unveil the project we’ve been working on in secret this whole time“adds artist Mike Allred.”Definitely one of my biggest DC projects to date. Working with Mark Russell’s scripts was great! The combination of dizzying iconography, all-important characters, twists, mysteries and thrills will result in the creation of an instant classic epic! It was both scary and inspiring to be able to take on this challenge and illustrate such a phenomenal project!“.
The first edition of Superman: Space Age will be released in the United States on July 26, 2022, and subsequent releases will be released every two months. In support of the announcement, DC Comics also published cover variants which will accompany the release of the first edition, which we report on below along with some preview tables.
Soon after the death of the Justice League, the DC Universe will face a new crisis. In fact, the next big crossover event, DC Dark Crisis, kicks off in June.
