The debut season of Mushoku Tensei: Unemployed Reincarnation It was one of the most fascinating of the year, also because the second half of the season is very different from the first and a similar level of quality has been maintained.
As Rudeus, Eris and Ruijerd prepare for their homeward journey, the series sets the stage for what could happen in future seasons of the series. But before you do that an emotionally torturous moment may be necessary.
In the penultimate episode of the season, Rudeus and Eris return home for the first time since they were teleported away during the disaster. Unfortunately, their worst fears have been confirmed since the state of the area is much more devastated than before, and it is clear that their life will never be the same again.
But with this in mind, the Dead End crew has to say goodbye and go their own way in two incredibly emotional scenes before the season comes to an end. In episode 22 of the series, Rudeus and Eris return home, and here the time has come Ruijerd finally fulfills his original promise to bring the two children home. Now that he no longer considers them two children he no longer has to be with them to protect them.
So he says hello and promises to see her again one day. But that is only the first farewell, the second is much more difficult for Rudeus. After returning home, it is confirmed that Rudeus’ mother has not yet been found. Not only that, but Eris’ mother, father and grandfather all died after the van accident.
Ghislaine survived the first teleportation explosion but confirms that the situation is very serious. As a result of all of this bad news, Eris has some emotional revelations and so she decides to keep the promise she and Rudeus made: to sleep together.
In Jobless Reincarnation 22, the relationship between the two continues to develop. Rudeus, initially rejected, lets himself be persuaded, but unfortunately Eris leaves the next morning and leaves the young man a message: “You and I don’t match right now”.
With this, Rudeus is left completely alone for the season finale. It’s been some tough goodbyes, mostly because they happened one after the other (the second also had feelings that Rudeus might be hiding), but now it’s all about what we’ll see in the season finale.
What do you think? How should Mushoku Tensei’s debut season end? Will Orsted return to the Jobless Reincarnation Finals? Feel free to let us know all of your thoughts on this in the comments below.
