ONE PIECE remains a champion when it comes to the Shonen series, and his manga proves it every week. Eiichiro Oda has created a world of adventure since the first chapters and managed to once again highlight one of his first characters: Zoro. And now an age-old question about the swordsman has finally found an answer.
The revelation came in the latest chapter of ONE PIECE, which you can find on Manga Plus. Chapter 1033 saw the continuation of the Clash between Zoro and King. On this occasion, some previously unpublished moments from Zoro’s past are shown. We can finally see how the boy got his swords many years ago.
Eventually, fans will remember that as a child, Zoro did not have swords that were entirely his. When he challenged Kuina at the dojo, he arrived armed with two formidable blades, but no one knew where they came from. We know that now the two swords came from the old village blacksmith: the man was a legend from Wano.
The blacksmith was none other than Shimotsuki Kozaburo, a renowned blacksmith from Wano, who fled the country after Oden’s death. Hidden by a new identity, the blacksmith settled in the East Blue and had a family: Kuina was his granddaughter. Zoro eventually formed a strange bond with Kozaburo. After all, the swordsman uses it Enma who is said to be the greatest sword the old man ever made. And now Enma and Zoro have to face each other.
Given Zoro’s bond with Shimotsuki, it seems that the fighter is destined to wield Enma, but the cursed sword is not that easily tamed. Like an animal, Zoro has to tame the sword and find a way to incorporate his personality into his iconic fighting style.
But as we all know, Zoro won’t go under until he masters Enma and knocks King off forever. What do you think of this latest ONE PIECE reveal? Did you ever think the manga would answer that question? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
