Less than a week after its release in Japan, the first Blu-ray / DVD package of the anime adaptation of the light novels Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru (The detective is already dead) cumulative 1,549 copies sold. The Blu-ray version was released in two versions, but the list only features one, suggesting the other sold so poorly that it was not ranked.
This first compilation package was released in Japan on November 26th and contains the first through fourth episodes of this adaptation. The Blu-ray version costs 14,300 yen (about $ 126) and cumulative 1,353 copies sold, while the DVD version costs 12,100 yen (about $ 107) and cumulative 196 copies sold. Benefits include an original novel, a brochure with illustrations and production materials, and some promotional video content.
The series premiered during the 2021 summer season (July-September) and had a total of twelve episodes, with the Funimation platform responsible for distribution in the west. On the other hand, Nigojuu began to publish the novels on the site Kakuyomu, and later began its publication on paper with illustrations by Umibouzu about the publisher Media factory in November 2019.

Summary of Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru
Kimizuka Kimihiko is a crisis magnet. From being caught at a crime scene to accidentally witnessing a drug deal, trouble seems to be around every corner. So it’s no wonder that your rather mundane flight suddenly falls into a state of emergency and urgently needs a detective on board. Unfortunately, his attempt to avoid trouble is thwarted by a beautiful silver-haired girl who goes by the name of Siesta. She declares herself a detective and unceremoniously pulls Kimizuka into the case as her assistant.
This incident marked the beginning of an adventure around the world that exceeded his wildest imagination. The two risked their lives, brought down criminal organizations, prevented disasters and saved thousands. But the curtain closed on his epic journey with Siesta’s untimely death three years later. This time, determined to live a normal life in high school, Kimizuka spends a year holding back. However, according to fate, a girl with an uncanny resemblance to siesta rushes into his life and threatens to ruin his days of peace.
