Kimi zu Boku no Saigo no Senjou – Chapter 7: Alice’s Longest Night

After Iska’s kidnapping, Alice and Rin take him to Sovereignty Province 13, where he is held until they decide what to do with him. Although Iska has regained consciousness, he is in sovereignty so it would not be enough to make a riot yourself. He obediently follows Alice and Rin’s instructions. He arrives in a room where he is being watched by Rin. After Alice is absent for a few moments, Rin attacks Iska until she is separated from him by Alice herself when she returns to the room.

They change roles and are Alice, who now stays to watch Iska. But with a setback that again led Rin to watch over the Empire’s swordsman. Alice takes a bath but forgets Iska’s presence in the room, creating a compromising situation but opening up an opportunity to confirm her feelings.

In the meantime, unit N07 infiltrates the sovereignty with the aim of saving Iska. Entering Olleluga prison with the help of Risya. However, members of the unit suspect that Risya has a different mission than rescuing Iska.

A light of hope

To be honest, Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou – Chapter 7 was full of action. Although not the “plot” that contains the story of the series, but the plot that contains the fan service. Something I really appreciate. However, I can’t say that the actual plot didn’t appear during the episode. In fact, I felt I had made more progress in this chapter than in previous episodesDespite the brief scene, which I thought had an impact on the plot, the conversation between Iska and Alice was about the astral ridges.

In that conversation, not only did I feel that the conspiracy was advancing, and both of them expressed their positions on such a vital issue in the war between the two nations. That which “defines” a witch, the astral crest. But I also think that they gave both protagonists a little boost so that their characters can develop even further. To stop seeming (at least a little) that both protagonists have encountered a “fate” that unites them in a way that seems and would be romantic most of the time. Of course, that doesn’t mean I don’t think it’ll be a final change for the protagonists now that they’re rivals. Perhaps in the future they will again have random encounters that mark the possible partner (love interest) they are having. However, I don’t feel like it will be too soon if it happens again.

Back to the subject of the plot. Personally, I was intrigued by the central topic of the conversation when it comes to astral ridges. It’s supposed to be something that differentiates normal people from “witches”. However, in the same episode, they showed that a normal person is able to achieve a coat of arms. Something that I felt, by the way, due to the lack of presence of the Empire themes, in this case the investigation, with multiple loopholes. While I can come up with an answer to the research into crest creation, I still feel like something is missing to fully fit the plot.

Definitely thanks to the fact that they mentioned and showed the topic Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou – In Chapter 7 I was asked various questions about astral ridges. From the figure that everyone has and whether they have anything to do with any particular person, to the question of whether the size of the coat of arms is comparable to the astral power of the wearer.

Hope my doubts about the ridges are mostly resolved before the anime ends. While I may know from reading the easy novel or manga, the fact that not that much detail appears in the anime, in my opinion, loses the potential it could have had.

Where there is light, there is also shadow

Despite a breakthrough in the main storyline and the protagonist, all other aspects are from Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou I think they are way behind. The minor characters are boring, absurd, or even frustrating as they have little or no background and development. With such interesting characters among those already presented, but with no “background”, they feel empty or just filling. For example Jhin and Rin. Both are the characters closest to the protagonists. Jhin was also Crossweiler’s parish, but he wasn’t his heir and doesn’t seem to mind. For her part, Rin appears to support Alice’s goal and desire to end the war, but she also shows hostility towards others than herself.

The two supporting characters mentioned above have great potential to give more depth to the plot and the development of the protagonists. However, I have a feeling that they are being wasted and only left with minor characters who become extras in the story. And not to mention the other characters like Risya, Nameless, Kissing or the crazy Captain Mismis.

Fortunately, the new character, Salinger el ‘Transcendent demon‘will have more depth than the others. As an Astral Power user who once attacked his queen. I hope you have an interesting reason for this and not a simple one like “I wanted more strength” or something like that. Hopefully its appearance will at least give some indication of the internal conflicts of sovereignty.

It only appeared in a few seconds Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou – Chapter 7, but I think Salinger has more background than all of the supporting characters combined. I hope I won’t be disappointed.

Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou it still goes on with more mistakes than hits. However, it’s not quite ready yet that I want to stop watching the animated adaptation. Although I wasn’t interested in learning more about the story by reading his original work. Mind you, the fan service has possibly the greatest credit for keeping me as a viewer.

Speaking of Fan serviceIska was more embarrassed to see Mismis naked than Alice. In my case, too, the astral ridge would not have been the first thing Alice had seen. After all, she was still naked when she showed her back to hide her body.
