During the release of the sixteenth compilation volume, it was reported that the manga written and illustrated by Kanji Kawashita, Ateya no Tsubaki, has exceeded 1.2 million copies in circulation.

Kawashita began publishing the manga in the magazine Young Animal from the publisher Hakusensha in issue # 24 of the year 2007. The publisher published the sixteenth compilation volume today, and published the fifteenth in January 2018. The work inspired a Drama CD released in 2014.

Kawashita also published the manga Anko Bomb-a-Yeah !!, in the magazine Young Animal Arashi from the Hakusensha publishing house between January 2006 and May 2007, with a total of three published compilation volumes.

Synopsis of Ateya no Tsubaki

Housen is an erotic art painter in the Edo period in Japan, who is involved in the mystery of the murders of women that have been linked to one of his sponsors.
