The service Shonen Jump Plus from the publisher Shueisha announced that recruiting for the new MILLION TAG manga award has started. Six people will be selected from all applicants who will team up with Shueisha editors to create a 5 million yen (approximately $ 48,000) thesis, ensure instant serialization of their work, and anime adaptation.
Successful applicants can team up with any of the following editors:
- Shihei lin, Manga editor like SPY x FAMILY, Chainsaw man and Ao not an exorcist.
- Tamada junichi, Manga editor like Seija no Koushin Revenge, Twin Star Exorcists and Taisho Wotome Otogibanashi.
- Takuya okamoto, Manga editor like Otome no Teikoku, Harem at the end of the world and Debby the Korsifa.
- Lee Mitsuaki, Manga editor like Kubo-san, Tensei Goblin Dakedo Shitsumon Aru?, and Ekijin no Karute.
- Hatakeyama, Manga editor as Futari from Koi wo Suru Riyuu, Kanojo ga Kawaii Sugite Ubaenai and Ankh X Uncool X Dead.
- Yusuke Asai, Manga editor like MASHLE, Kimetsu no yaiba and Hinomaru juice.
While many readers feel this is an excellent opportunity for young talent, some others say this is a desperate attempt by the editor. Shueisha and the editorial team of the magazine Weekly shonen jump for a quick job that replaces the gaps left by the now completed “pillars”. This is complimented as many of the most popular manga of the moment have emerged from the service, such as: Boku not a hero academy, Jujutsu Kaisen and Shokugeki no Soumato name a few.
