The editorial office Kadokawa revealed that the author Keiichi Arawi will continue to publish the manga Nichijou in this year’s twelfth issue of the magazine Monthly Shonen ace, on October 26th. Arawi announced via his Twitter account that he wanted to draw this work again and therefore decided to end the suspension.
This year’s eleventh issue of the magazine had already indicated last month that Arawi βI would publish a mangaβIn the next edition, however, no further details were given at this point in time. The press release also included the cover of this twelfth issue, on which the manga in question plays the main role and celebrates the 27th anniversary of the magazine.
Arawi published the manga in the magazine Monthly Shonen ace 2006 as a short manga before the main release began the following year. He later published it in the magazine Comptiq from the publisher Kadokawa and in the 4-coma nano-aceand ended 2015 with a total of ten edited volumes. The piece inspired a twenty-six episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. Kyoto animation and was released in April 2011.
Summary of Nichijou
Nichijou focuses primarily on the daily antics of a trio of childhood friends – high school students Mio Naganohara, Yuuko Aioi, and Mai Minakami – whose stories soon intertwine with young genius Hakase Shinonome, their robot caretaker Nano, and their talking cat, Sakamoto. With each passing day, the lives of these six, as well as that of many people around them, experience both the tranquility of normal life and the madness of the absurd. Going to school, being bitten by a talking crow, spending time with friends and watching the headmaster beat a deer – all of this is part of the extraordinary everyday life of the residents of Nichijou.
