On July 7, 2014, exactly 7 years ago, the first chapter of My hero academy. Since that moment, Deku has embarked on an extraordinary path that resulted in Kohei Horikoshi’s work being recognized as one of the best of the decade, as well as a worthy heir to Naruto, ONE PIECE and Dragon Ball.
The manga My Hero Academia was seven years old. The serialization actually started on July 7th, 2014 on the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump. During this time they were published 30 volumes and 318 chapters, with the 319 coming out every day, an animated adaptation has been made that includes 5 seasons, the fifth of which is currently in the works, and two animated films, with the third coming out in August. With 50 million copies in circulation, it’s fair to say that Kohei Horikoshi’s work is in the Olympus of Battle Shonen and that the legacy of the Big Three of Shonen Jump is in good hands.
However, from the first chapter entitled “Izuku Midoriya: Origin” the work has taken an unrecognizable turn. Originally, Kohei was Horikoshi’s manga happy and carefree: In addition to the fights with the villains, there were numerous snippets of daily life that brightened the atmosphere.
At some point in history, however, everything changed. My Hero Academia is now a Battle Shonen with dark colors, almost dark. There seems to be no trace of those happy days. The protagonist has lost his usual smile, numerous characters have died or are seriously injured, the era of heroes has come to an end and the reign of terror in All For One has begun again. A somewhat unexpected change in pace, but one that has captured the community. The work seems to be directed towards the end: Will the hero society be again the one All Might dreamed of?
Let’s compare Deku with the other heroes of My Hero Academia and find out who is the strongest hero of all time.
