August 25, 2021 marks exactly ten years in Japan since the serialization of the manga, written and illustrated by, began Izumi Tsubaki, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (Monthly Nozaki-kun for girls). The author shared a special message on Twitter in which he wrote: «Monthly Girl Nozaki-kun began serializing 10 years ago today. Therefore today is exactly 10 years old. Thank you for this fabulous ten years. I will continue the good work and live up to your expectations!».

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun

Tsubaki also publishes the manga in the magazine Gangan Online from the publisher Square enix since August 2011. In August 2020 the publisher published the twelfth anthology in Japan. The piece inspired a twelve-part anime adaptation produced by the studios. Doga kobo, Headed by Mitsue Yamazaki and scripts written by Yoshiko nakamura, released July 2014. A short six-episode OVA was then produced, but to date there is no indication of a second season.

Summary of Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun

High school student Chiyo Sakura has long been in love with her classmate Umetarou Nozaki. When she confesses her love to him, he thinks she is a fanatic and gives her his autograph. Confused, she tells him that she wants to be with him and Nozaki invites her to his home to help her with her work. It turns out that Nozaki is a renowned shoujo manga artist who works under the name Sakiko Yumeno. She agrees to become his assistant to get closer to him. As they work on their new manga, Koi Shiyo, they begin to meet their peers and serve as inspiration for the piece.
