In the most recent issue of the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from the publisher Shueisha the manga written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, Dr stone, has exceeded 5 million copies in circulation. Additionally, new details about the second season of his anime adaptation will be revealed next week.

Inagaki and Boichi began publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from the publisher Shueisha in March 2017. The publisher published the fifteenth compilation volume on April 3.

The work inspired a 24-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. TMS Entertainment, under the direction of Shinya Iino and scripts written by Yuichiro Kido, released in July 2019. Production for a second season is confirmed, however, no production details or a release date have been revealed.
