Following Blue Lock and the re-release of City Hunter, Planet Manga has unveiled the title of the third manga, due out in July Alice in Wonderland by Jun Abe. The work, presented in a box set that collects both volumes, is an adaptation of Tim Burton’s blockbuster film of the same name and was serialized in 12 chapters between 2009 and 2010.

In our March 22nd forecast, we put up the Alice in Borderland hypothesis, which turned out to be false as the rights are still owned by Flashbook Manga, and some alternatives such as Okairi Alice by Shuzuo Oshimi, Alice in Murder Land from Kaori Yuki or the very good one Black butler. Planet Manga went for something completely unpredictable instead, but that is sure to make all Disney fans happy.

For those unfamiliar with the work, keep in mind that the manga is an adaptation of Tim Burton’s film, which in turn comes from the masterpiece “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by English writer Lewis Carroll. Adaptation is actually not the exact term, as Jun Abe’s story looks more like a retelling than a 1: 1 conversion, but is still more faithful to the film than the original story. The price will be announced in the next issue of “Preview”.
