On the official page for the anime adaptation of the manga written by Ryousuke Takeuchi and illustrated by Hikaru miyoshi, Yuukoku no moriarty (Moriarty the Patriot), a promotional image was posted for the franchise’s upcoming OVA, dated April 27, 2022 in Japan. The press release describes the story as follows:
«The new OVA will feature two episodes from the anime’s original story.Yuri no Tsuioku (Memory of Yuri) “and”Moriarty-ke no Kyuujitsu (Moriarty family holiday) ”. “Yuri no Tsuioku” is the story of a popular aristocratic painter whose paintings are defaced in Bath, one of the best health resorts in Great Britain. In “Moriarty-ke no Kyuujitsu” the Moriarty family holds a rotating tea party.».
The animated adaptation had a total of 24 episodes, eleven of which were broadcast in the fall 2020 season (October-December) and 13 in the spring 2021 season (April-June) Funimation in the West. In the end, Ryousuke Takeuchi and Hikaru miyoshi began publishing the manga in the magazine Jump SQ from the publisher Shueisha in August 2016. A special event is planned for March 5, 2022, at which important project announcements can be expected.

- Tooru Ookubo (Sengoku Basara, Tokimeki Restaurant ☆☆☆ MIRACLE6 movie) was responsible for character design and animation direction.
- Gou-Zappa (Ahiru no Sora, Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai) and Taku kishimoto (Boku dake ga Inai Machi, Fugou Keiji: Credit: Unlimited) were responsible for writing and overseeing the scripts.
Yuukoku no Moriarty Synopsis
At the end of the 19th century, Britain is the greatest empire the world has ever seen. Hidden in its success, the nation’s rigid economic hierarchy dictates the value of life on the basis of status and wealth alone. Unsurprisingly, the system favors the aristocracy at the top and makes it impossible for the working class to climb the ranks.
William James Moriarty, the second son of the Moriarty family, lives as a normal nobleman and is also an advisor to the common people to help them and solve their problems. But deep within him is a desire to destroy the current structure that dominates British society and those who benefit from it. Together with their brothers Albert and Louis, the trio will do everything to change the filthy world they live in, even if blood has to be shed.
