Makoto Yukimura is a mangaka who previously worked on Planetes but has been working on it for over a decade Vinland sagaManga about Vikings originally published in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine, then moved to Afternoon and became a Sein-style series.
It took Vinland Saga to become an anime, a full 14 years from 2005 to 2019. The second season of Vinland Saga will debut in 2023, so it will be a while before Thorfinn is back in action. Meanwhile the Mangaka Makoto Yukimura shared his thoughts on anime in an interview.
βWhat really surprised me when the first season was announced was that there were a lot of overseas viewers. It may be that Japanese cartoons are being rolled out very quickly around the world via Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc., but it seems so to me. Anime has long attracted the attention of people abroad. I'm thankful for all of that. Although I've seen comments on social media from people wondering why a person like me, living on an island in the Far East, is making history about the Vikings in Europe, it seems to me that that there are no limits to enjoy anime. I'm thankful to live in a time when Vinland Saga can be enjoyed anywhere in the world".
The Vinland Saga Season 2 Trailer brings Thor finn face a new reality and different challenges.
