On the official page for the anime adaptation of the manga, written and illustrated by June Mochizuki, Vanitas no card (The Vanitas case study) a promotional video was released for the second part of the project. The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for January 14, 2022 in Japan, and the statement announces a special event slated for January 7, 2022.
The series will have a total of 24 episodes that will air in two separate halves (twelve episodes each). The series will be broadcast from the platform Funimation in the west, and the first half was released on July 2nd, while the second is slated for January 2022. For his part, Mochizuki began publishing manga through the magazine Gangan joker from the publisher Square enix in December 2015.

- Tomoyuki Itamura (Nisemonogatari, Owarimonogatari, Tsukimonogatari) is responsible for directing the anime in the studios BONE.
- Decoration Akao (Noragami, Akagami no Shirayuki-hime) is responsible for writing and monitoring the scripts.
- Yoshiyuki Ito (Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Gensou, Carole & Tuesday) is responsible for character design and animation direction.
- Yuki kajiura (Kimetsu no Yaiba, Sword Art Online, Fate / Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works) is responsible for composing the soundtrack.
- The singer Sasanomaly plays the opening theme of the first part entitled “Sora to Utsuro” while the singer LMYK interprets the final theme of the first part with the title “0 (zero)”.
Summary of Vanitas no Carte
Once upon a time there was a vampire named Vanitas who was hated by his own kind because he was born under a blue full moon as most were resurrected on the night of a crimson. Fearful and alone, he created the “Book of Vanitas”, a cursed grimoire that would one day take revenge on all vampires; at least that’s the story.
Vanitas no Carte follows Noah, a young man who travels through 19th century Paris aboard an airship with one goal in mind: to find the book Vanitas. A sudden attack by vampires leads him to meet the enigmatic Vanitas, a doctor who specializes in vampires and, to Noah’s surprise, a completely normal person. The mysterious doctor inherited both the name and the infamous text of Vanitas from legend and uses the grimoire to heal his patients. But behind his friendly demeanor there is something more sinister …
