The World’s Strongest Rearguard Anime Reveals Visual and Confirms July Premiere

If you thought your eight-hour office job was hard, imagine dying in an accident, being reincarnated in a fantasy world full of mazes, and ending up supporting the team. Well, that is exactly the premise with which The World’s Strongest Rearguard plans to conquer the summer season.

The production committee has just released a new promotional image and confirmed that this particular isekai will officially land on July 5.

The Voice Cast Behind the Adventure

Studio Maho Film did not skimp on the budget and assembled a cast of seiyuus which is pure fantasy:

• Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Arihito — the eternal harem protagonist, unmistakable for being Kirito in Sword Art Online and Inosuke in Demon Slayer.
• Aoi Koga as Theresia — the legendary voice behind Kaguya Shinomiya in Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Komi Shouko in Komi Can’t Communicate.
• Yui Ishikawa as Elitia — our always beloved Mikasa Ackerman in Attack on Titan and the same Violet Evergarden.
• Saori Hayami as Suzuna — worldwide acclaimed for bringing Yor Forger to life in Spy x Family and Shinobu Kocho in Demon Slayer.
• Kaede Hondo as Misaki — recognized as Elaina in Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina and Sakura in Zombieland Saga.
• Kanon Takao as Madoka — known for her tender role as Rit in Banished from the Hero’s Party.

It’s the auditory equivalent of comfort food, and the studio knows you’ve already got a soft spot for at least two of these voices. That’s not casting — it’s architectural affection.

Production Team

Under the direction of Yuji Yanase and with scripts by Deko Akao, the production will focus on adapting the tactical mechanics of the original light novel written by Towa.

What Is the Story About?

Arihito Atobe is a corporate worker who dies in an unfortunate accident and is reincarnated in a fantasy world filled with mazes and adventurers known as Seekers.

Upon awakening, he discovers that he has a unique job class called the rearguard, which allows him to provide vital support from the back lines of combat. Free from the chains of his old, monotonous life, Arihito decides to take advantage of this second chance to forge real connections and explore this new world with a group made up exclusively of adventurous girls.
