Yesterday, July 21, 2021, Netflix showed a brand new trailer for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, the prequel anime film of the live-action series with Henry Cavill. Immediately after the video was published the official profile featured the four main characters, revealing visuals, voice actors and some background details.
The protagonist, Vesemir, is voiced by Theo James and is described as a “boy who grew up as a servant in the manor of a noble family and who has worked hard for years to earn a few coins. His goal is to get rid of” the shackles and explore the continent to discover its true destiny. “Vesemir is the mentor of Geralt of Rivia, and The anime film focuses on its witcher adventures.
Among other things we find Tetra Gilcrest (Lara Pulver), a “mighty witch from a line of wizards, in love with magic and on a journey to make sure no one on the continent abuses her”, Lady Zerbst (Mary McDonnell), a “noblewoman who, after her husband’s death, inherited her husband’s position of power to become the king’s right-hand man,” and Deglan (Graham McTavish), “a man who was born in the Skellige Islands and became the great fighter of a witch company”. No details have been announced about the antagonists at the moment.
