The Slow Second Life of the Retired Dark Soldier story releases its first image

Written on the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels by Rokujuuyon Okazawa and illustrated by Wise John, The retired dark soldier’s slow second life in his 30s (Kaiko sareta Ankoku Heishi (30 days) not slow in Second Life) the first promotional image of the project was released. The press release confirmed that the premiere is scheduled for January 2023 in Japan and revealed the production details.

Okazawa began publishing the story on the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou in November 2018 and finished it in July 2020. The editor Kodansha began its paper release in August 2019 with illustrations by Wise John. The manga adaptation of Rurekuchie will be published in the magazine Young magazine of the 3 from Kodansha since August 2019.

Synopsis for The Slow Second Life of the Retired Dark Soldier in His 30s

Dariel, a dark soldier from the Demon King’s army who can’t use magic, has risen to the position of assistant to the Four Generals thanks to his talent and energy and has proven his skills. However, once the four generals are replaced, Dariel is fired from the army. Dariel is devastated, but when he arrives at a human village, he discovers that his adventuring skills, said to be useless to demons, have blossomed! “I was… human?” Dariel decides to spend his second life in this village and the requests are starting to pour in! Expenditure! False accusation! Duel! Using his natural abilities and the power of adaptation he developed in his old place, the ancient dark soldier solves them all!
