The promised Neverland came out with a new special chapter called “We Were Born”. Although Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu’s manga released its final chapter last year, the franchise has lived on thanks to the new special releases.
Not only is there a new season of the anime coming, of which we already know the opening of the new trailer, a live-action film and a live-action series. But Shirai and Demizu will return to the manga with a number of new chaptersto close down some things that were left open during the main series. However, this chapter is fundamentally different from everything else.
“We Were Born” is actually a one-shot, produced by Shirai and Demizu before it even got to The promised Neverland that we all know and love. We’re going to find new characters and a new world, and you can come up with some ideas that came up then to make it look like the series itself. One of the most fascinating things is to see the pitch of a series, read the original idea, and see how it evolved into its final version over time. This one-shot has the same central themes as the original, but it is set in a war-torn world, unreliable adults, but still a long way from the battles with demons we saw in the main series.
