Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken is getting a series of short films starring Ramiris

Written on the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels by merged and illustrated by mitzvah, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (Tightness: That’s when I was reincarnated as a slime) it was announced that the short stories “Sukuwareru Ramiris‘ will have an anime adaptation. The press release confirmed that the animation project will be a short film series with only two episodes (a project as small as Ramiris, they explain), with the first scheduled for March 19 in Japan and the second yet to be announced.

The episodes will be available through the official YouTube channel Bandai spirits (in this link), while the statement also included a promotional image for the project.

The first season of the anime adaptation was produced by the studios 8 bitsLed by Yasuhito Kikuchi and scripts written by Kazuyuki Fudeyasuand premiered in October 2018. The second season was directed by Atsushi Nakayama and aired in two halves in January 2021 and July 2021 in Japan. A feature film has been confirmed in production and is scheduled to premiere in the Fall 2022 (October-December) season.

Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Summary

Satoru Mikami, 37, is a typical corporate employee who is perfectly content with his monotonous lifestyle in Tokyo, apart from the fact that he has never had a girlfriend in his life. During a chance encounter with his colleague, he falls victim to a mugger and is stabbed to death. However, as he succumbs to his injuries, a strange voice echoes in his head, reciting a series of commands that the dying cannot understand. When Satoru regains consciousness, he discovers that he has been reincarnated as a slime in an unknown realm. In the process, he gains new abilities, most notably the power to devour anything and mimic his looks and abilities.

Next, he stumbles upon the catastrophically sealed monster “Storm Dragon” Veldora, which has been sealed against rampaging through a city for the last 300 years. Understanding his situation, Satoru befriends him and promises to help him destroy the seal. In return, Veldora gives him the name Rimuru Tempest to grant him divine protection. Now freed from the mundanities of his past life, Rimuru embarks on a new journey with a clear goal in mind. As he adjusts to his new physique, his sticky antics spread around the world, gradually changing his destiny.
