A locked door and many secrets in a seemingly ruined world marked that Return of Makoto Shinkai. The director of Your Name and the more recent Weathering With You returns with a new creation three years after it last hit theaters. And this time it is the film Suzume no Tojimarisoon available in Japan.
The announcement of Suzume no Tojimari in 2021 ushered in a new world unrelated to the previous ones, with a door in a ruined location and a possible catastrophe for Japan. Suzume no Tojimari was slowly showing new promotional material introducing Suzume and other characters. That new trailer of Suzume no Tojimari makes the situation of the animated film very clear, with the protagonist’s encounter with a boy who is looking for a door.
The two are also at the center of the new poster of Suzume no Tojimari, with Suzume and this mysterious character opening one of those doors. The trailer also serves to introduce the film’s new cast:
- Eri Fukatsu has the role of Tamaki Iwato;
- Matsumoto Hakuo II voices Hitsujiro Munakata;
- Shota Sometani is Minoru Okabe;
- Sairi Ito is Rumi Ninomiya;
- Kotone Hanase is the voice of Chika Amabe;
- finally, Kana Hanazawa provides the voice for Tsubame Iwato;
Suzume no Tojimari will debut in Japan on November 11, 2022.
