For some time now there has been talk of an anime for one of the funniest and most successful mangas in recent years. Rumors about the Spy x Family domain and the creation of the official Twitter channel have intensified rumors about an anime in preparation for Tatsuya Endo’s project in recent months.
In the past few hours these rumors seemed almost official. In an interview posted on the official website of FRaU magazine in Kodansha, voice actress Cocomi, who also worked on Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko, said that she I’m looking forward to seeing the animated adaptation of Spy x Family next year.
That statement started the Network that practically made the Spy x Family anime officialalthough there is no official statement from Shueisha Publishing, the owner of the intellectual property. Immediately following the online disclosure, the comment in question was deleted from Kodansha’s site, although it is still accessible through the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine.
If it had only been a hope of the voice actress, the comment would hardly have been canceled. In this case, a small adjustment via social media would have been sufficient instead the sentence was completely deleted and this seems even more to point to a real involuntary leak from voice actress Cocomi. So the Spy x Family anime could really arrive in 2022. Only the next few months will tell us whether the sentence was true or whether it was misunderstood.
