Che Eiichiro Oda, in drafting his ONE PIECEShe was inspired by real characters, is a fact, and can be seen on behalf of several pirates and much more. But who was Everything D. Teach and why did the Sensei want to call Blackbeard that?
Today we know that one of Blackbeard’s greatest inspirations is actually Edward Teach, one of the most feared pirates in the world and a legendary figure in the world of piracy. But originally Oda had foreseen something different for the current main opponent of the manga. Its original name was indeed Everything D. Teaching, a clear reference to another important historical figure, that of Henry Everyone.
The latter is in fact true of historical piracy “Pirate King“Who managed to accomplish legendary feats that were not considered impossible for anyone at the time. The English government set in in 1717 after Henry’s crew looted one of the Indian Company’s ships Cut to each head worth £ 500, a value of around 25 pounds today, but which was immense back then and is now on the order of hundreds of thousands of euros. To the uninitiated, Henry was the tallest man in the world, which is ironic since Blackbeard’s first appearance was only 0 berry in size.
