Now that the anime has officially passed the formidable milestone of 1000 episodes of ONE PIECE, it is time to look to the future of what will come if the Wano Country arc continues.
The current opening theme has been with the series for over 60 episodes (aside from the fantastic remake of the first opening for the 1000th episode of ONE PIECE), and fans have been wondering when they can expect a new theme to debut second half of the Onigashima War.
The series’ official Twitter account revealed that ONE PIECE shared the first details on the next topic. Justified “colour“is performed by the rock group”I don’t like monday“and will debut with the January 9th episode of the anime.
At the moment it is not clear which episode this is as programming may vary during the Christmas holidays, but it certainly will be a great way to start ONE PIECE 2022.
This marks the 24. Opening theme for the 1000 episodes of the anime so far and will follow “Dreamin On,” which marked the second phase of the Country of Wano story arc. It originally debuted with a preview of what would happen in the final attack on Onigashima, but now that the anime has officially reached that point, the opening is out of date (even after its Update with Yamato). That makes the next opening even more exciting, but it depends on how much Toei Animation wants to use future material from the manga or not.

One way to make this even more exciting would be show most of these events with the new sequence in the opening theme, but we won’t be able to see what it is like until what is likely the first episode to air in 2022.
