The Country of Wa story arc represents one of the most important sagas of ONE PIECE. New characters relevant to both the past and future of the story and the discovery of fundamental events make Wano one of the most interesting regions in the world, created by Eiichiro Oda, who returned to see some curiosities in the SBS- Discuss Column.
In volume 101, published in Japan, the master actually studied some minor characters appeared in the previous chapters. Reply to a fan who wanted to know if one of the samurai who helped little Yamato was actually Zoro’s father, given the close resemblance between the two. Given the cyclical nature of the question, Oda decided to go into a superficial but interesting description of three daimyos.
Shimotsuki Ushimaru, Fugetsu Omusibi and Uzuki Tenpura they are respectively the daimyo of Ringo, Kibi, and Udon, three of the regions into which Wano is divided. After the death of the legendary Oden, the regions attempted to rise against Orochi but were pushed back by the Pirates of the Hundred Beasts. Oda then focuses on one particularity regarding Ushimaru, the man who Zoro. is very similar, as well as a good friend of Onumaru, the fox who stole the Shusui sword from Mugiwara.
In fact, a meeting between Onimaru and Zoro was originally planned, at which the fox is shocked at the swordsman’s resemblance to his old friend. However, in order to make the story more linear in production, it was decided to eliminate this scene. In the last part of the answer given at the bottom of the page, Oda reveals that Ushimaru is not Zoro’s father, and that the three names he introduced do not appear in the manga.
