The end of the story arc in the Wano region gave way to the beginning of a new era in the wide world ONE PIECE. But before the Mugiwara leave these shores for Laugh Tale, Eiichiro Oda wanted to unravel an important mystery about the nation's past.

In Chapter 1055 of the manga, which you can find on the MangaPlus platform, the mangaka has taken the readers back to Sukiyaki's secret room. After Momonosuke's grandfather Nico Robin and Trafalgar D. Law, they came across a Street Poignee Grips, necessary to determine the location of the coveted Laugh Tale Island. However, the three followed a staircase down that reached below sea level.

Law and Robin's surprise was soon answered with the words of Sukiyaki: the original Wano has submerged, and the region where all the events narrated so far took place is a reconstruction of it. According to the tales and long history handed down in the region, Wano was an island composed mostly of plains, but with a huge mountain rising in the middle.

β€œAt some point, great walls were built around the island, which filled with rainwater. People had to leave their flooded cities and bring to life a new land on the slopes of the mountain" this is how historians described Wano's rebirth. Finally, we leave you with the spoilers for Chapter 1056 and Oda's anticipation for the next ONE PIECE mystery to be revealed.
