Powerful animation studios, the American animation studio responsible for the production of Castlevania and the new animes Tomb Raider and Skull Island, has signed an important “first-look” agreement with Netflix, with the aim of continuing to produce exclusive series over the next few years.
For those unfamiliar with the subject, remember that a “first-look deal” is a contract that allows one of the two parties (in this case Powerhouse Animation) to receive a large amount of money for a period of time, in return for the right to pre-negotiate when purchasing a product. Simply put, this means that when Powerhouse Animation gets its hands on a new script, absolutely must suggest it to Netflix firstwho can decide whether to buy or reject the distribution rights.
