One week after its release on the Japanese market, the first Blu-ray / DVD package of the anime adaptation of the manga by Hiroyuki, Kanojo mo Kanojo (Girlfriend, girlfriend), cumulative only 477 copies sold.
The package was released in Japan on October 6th and contains the first through third episodes of this adaptation. The Blu-ray version costs 9,900 yen (about $ 95) and the DVD version costs 8,800 yen (about $ 84). Benefits include a booklet with production materials and an additional cover. The number only includes copies of the Blu-ray version sold, as DVD sales were so small that they were not included on the list.
For his part, Hiroyuki began to publish the manga through the magazine Weekly Shonen magazine from the publisher Kodansha in March 2020. The publisher published the sixth anthology on June 17th, followed by the seventh on August 17th in Japan. So far there is no information about the production of a second season.

- Satoshi Kuwahara (Gotoubun no Hanayome, Adachi to Shimamura, Isekai Maou after Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu) was responsible for directing the anime in the studios Tezuka Productions.
- Keiichirou Oochi (Gotoubun no Hanayome, Adachi to Shimamurai, Hinamatsuri) was responsible for writing and overseeing the scripts in collaboration with Kazuhiko inukai and Mayumi morita.
- Akiko toyoda (Adachi to Shimamura, Ikebukuro West Gate Park) was responsible for the character design.
- Miki Sakurai and Tatsuhiko Saiki You were responsible for composing the soundtrack.
Summary of Kanojo mo Kanojo
After Naoya Mukai had an unrequited love for several years, she finally gets a date with her childhood friend Saki Saki. However, when he tries to get involved in this relationship, he receives an abrupt confession from Nagisa Minase. Naoya tries to reject her at first, but is soon overwhelmed by the feeling of not wanting to hurt her. In order not to abuse his girlfriend’s trust, Naoya comes up with a “solution” to make both happy: going out with both of them. Of course, Saki rejects the idea, but through Naoya and Nagisa’s persistence, she eventually accepts. This begins a three-headed romance between Naoya, his girlfriend, and his other girlfriend, who from the start have had a relationship that deviates from the social norm.
