Studio MAPPA's 2023 is going to be really crazy. The animation studio, which has been gaining prominence in recent years, has taken on the task of adapting a lot of manga. There are second and third seasons of already famous animes, but also many other upcoming projects. One of them, among the most awaited, is jigokuraku.

The manga by Yuji Kaku, former assistant to Chainsaw Man Tatsuki Fujimoto, was published on Shonen Jump + for a few years and managed to capture the Japanese audience despite the brevity of its story. A Jigokuraku anime was announced for this in 2021, when it was also announced that Studio MAPPA would take care of it. It's been a while since its debut on Crunchyroll in 2023 has been confirmed, but more specific information is now pouring in.

This has been announced in anticipation of the Jump Festa, which will reveal more burning information about the series Jigokuraku will debut in April 2023 in Japan. That leaves four months until launch, which will see a newly revealed cast of voice actors in attendance. Here is the full list of the protagonists' voices:

  • Gabimaru: Chiaki Kobayashi;
  • Yamada Asaemon Sagiri as Yumiri Hanamori;
  • Aza Touma as Kensho Ono;
  • Fuchi: Aoi Ichikawa;
  • Yuzuriha as Rie Takahashi;
  • Aza Choubei as Ryohei Kimura;
  • Tamiya Gantetsusai as Tetsu Inada.

The role of Chiaki Kobayashi, the voice of the protagonist who sees his career steadily growing, is certainly interesting, and the same goes for Yumiri Hanamori, the voice of the female protagonist who has voiced Ai Hayasaka from Kaguya-sama: Love in the past there's war.

Hell's Paradise - Jigokuraku could be one of the surprises of 2023. Set in a slightly imaginative Edo period, the protagonist Gabimaru will be in search of an immortalizing elixir while facing a death sentence.
