On the official Twitter account for the animated adaptation of light novels by Yuuki Yaku and illustrated by Fly, Jaku-chara Tomozaki-kun ((Bottom tier character Tomozaki) a promotional video was shared for the upcoming OVAs in the series. It should be noted that these are two OVAs that will be included in the third and fourth Blu-ray / DVD packages in the series, slated for May 7th and June 2nd, respectively.
The series premiered in Japan during the winter season 2021 (January-March) and had a total of twelve episodes with the platform Funimation responsible for the worldwide distribution. For his part, Yuuki Yaku and Fly began to publish the light novels through the publisher Shogakukan in May 2016.
Production team
- Shinsuke Yanagi ((Choujin Koukousei-tachi wa Isekai Demo Yoyuu de Ikinuku du desu!, Momo Kyun sword, Ryuuou no oshigoto!) was responsible for directing the anime in the studios Project # 9.

Synopsis of Jaku-chara Tomozaki-kun
For Fumiya Tomozaki, one of the best players in Japan, the “game of life” is the worst game there is. Despite being number one in the video game Attack Families, Tomozaki is a self-proclaimed lower-level character when it comes to real life. As a sophomore student, he suffers from a total lack of self-esteem, which leads him to completely give up trying to improve himself as a person. Instead, he accuses the real world of being completely unbalanced with no logical way to improve.
Aoi Hinami is an extremely popular girl in Tomozaki’s class with perfect grades. She fits the role of a perfect heroine and is on the other end of the social spectrum than Tomozaki. However, after a chance encounter with Hinami, Tomozaki realizes that she is not as perfect as he thought!
