Yami Shibai synopsis
The mysterious storyteller with a yellow mask is a man whose real name and origin are unknown. Performing at dusk, where children congregate, he recites creepy stories based on Japanese city legends that his young audiences rave about. The storyteller is not just any storyteller, however. It includes a kamishibai, a traditional paper scrolling device, to add pictures to your already insane storytelling.
Yami Shibai is a series of short horror stories that begins with a single man who immediately casts a malicious look on himself after moving into a new apartment. Just a talisman resting on his roof and the man has no idea that this is his last line of protection. Each story is more frightening, scary and disgusting than the last as the narrator’s audience is drawn into the cruel world of his words.
