One week after its launch on the Japanese market, the fourth and final Blu-ray compilation package of the animated adaptation of the light novels Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou (Higehiro: After I got rejected, I shaved and picked up a high school runaway), a total of 1,987 copies sold.
The package was released in Japan on September 29th and contains the tenth through thirteenth episodes of this adaptation. It's only available as a Blu-ray version priced at 11,000 yen (about $ 99) and includes some perks like a booklet with artwork and production material, a short novel, and a drama CD. The starts then had the following performance:
- Package 1 (episodes 1-3), published June 9, 2021 - 1,759 copies sold in the first week.
- Package 2 (episodes 4 to 6), published July 28, 2021 - 1,965 copies sold in the first week.
- Package 3 (episodes 7 to 9), published August 11, 2021 - 1,861 copies sold in the first week.
- Package 4 (episodes 10-13), published September 29, 2021 - 1,987 copies sold in the first week.
The series has aired in Japan since last April 5 and had a total of thirteen episodes while the platform Crispy roll takes care of sales in the west. On the other hand, light novels written by Shimesaba and illustrated by Booota were published through the publisher's label Bunko sneakers from Kadokawa since February 2018 and ended with its fifth volume in June 2021.
Production team
- Manabu Kamikita was responsible for directing the anime in the studios Project # 9. This is his debut as a project director.
- Takayuki noguchi (Ro-kyu-bu!, Queen's Blade 2: The Evil Eye, Railway romance) was responsible for the character design.
- Decoration Akao (Noragami, Akagami no Shirayuki-hime) was responsible for writing and overseeing the scripts.
- Dream shift (Shironeko Project: Zero Chronicle) took over the production.
Summary of Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou (Higehiro)
Schreiber Yoshida has been in love with his colleague Airi Gotou for five years. Although he finally gets a date with her, his confession is quickly rejected. Drunk and disappointed, he stumbles home only to find a high school girl on the side of the road. The girl, who needs a place to stay, tries to seduce Yoshida, who, although she refuses her advances, invites her to his apartment.
The next morning the girl, who introduces herself as Sayu Ogiwara, reveals that she has fled from Hokkaido to Tokyo. During his six-month trip, he constantly traded sexual favors for a roof over his head. However, Yoshida is not convinced of her seduction. Instead, he asks you to do another type of job that involves doing dishes and doing laundry. And so begins a heartwarming relationship between a heartbroken adult and a runaway high school girl.
