On the official site for the original anime from Wit studio, Great pretenderThe release dates for the first three Blu-ray compilations in the series, as well as the covers for the first two, created by the character's sub-designer, have been announced. Hirotaka Sato.

  • Volume 1 (episodes 1 to 5): December 16, 2020.
  • Volume 2 (episodes 6 to 10): January 20, 2021.
  • Volume 3 (episodes 11 to 14): February 17, 2021.

The series had its first five episodes in Netflix on June 2 in Japan, followed by episodes 6 through 10 on June 9 and episodes 11 through 14 on June 16. The official page lists more "coming soon" episodes. The series is slated to premiere worldwide on the platform under the name "The Great Faker" on August 20.

The series also made its television debut on July 8. Fuji TV in Japan and will run for two sheets, including a total of 23 episodes.

Great Pretender Synopsis

Makoto Edamura is said to be the best scam artist in Japan. Together with their partner Kudo, they try to cheat a Frenchman who was in Asakusa, but inexplicably they are the ones who are deceived.

The Frenchman they tried to cheat turns out to be Laurent Thierry, a dangerous man of the crime syndicate who controls the mafias. Edamura has not yet discovered that his daring has opened the door to a new stage in his life!
