Gianni Miriantini, founder of Hazard Edizioni, has passed away

On Christmas Day, due to a sudden heart attack, Gianni Miriantini, founder of Hazard Editions as well as one of the most influential figures in the Italian publishing industry. We join the family in grief and offer them our deepest condolences.

According to an official note posted on December 25th by Hazard Edizioni on Facebook Gianni Miriantini died. "Yesterday Gianni Miriantini passed away, not only the founder of Hazard Edizioni, but also a talented man who introduced us all to comic writing, the god of the manga Osamu Tezuka, the best Japanese comic who ever did it worked with the intention of publishing the most important writers in the national and international comic scene and creating many emerging writers who have become famous over time, but most of all I want to remember the man who is good, kind, intelligent and is helpful. ". We would also like to thank Mr. Miriantini, we readers will also miss him very much.

Hazard Edizioni was founded in 1986 by Gianni Miriantini in Milan. The Italian publisher specializes in the creation and publication of books and catalogs with graphics, illustrations and, above all, comics. Among the main published volumes we find those of Master Osamu Tezuka and that of Paolo Cossi.

J-POP Manga shares the pain of losing such an influential personality. ""It was with deep sadness that we learned of Gianni Miriantini's disappearance. With his Hazard Edizioni he has published many works by Tezuka, which in collaboration with him have become the basis of our current Osamushi collection. Gianni was also the first editor of Junji Ito. He has been active in the production and realization of exhibitions for over thirty years and is a role model for passion and seriousness for all small publishers like us.
