The animation sector has suffered several delays due to the global pandemic, but 2021 was still marked by releases at a certain level, such as film Evangelion 3.10 + 1.0the latest from Anno’s Rebuild and Mamoru Hosoda’s new masterpiece, BELLE, flanked by other great titles, all nominated for the VFX Japan Awards.
In fact, on January 31, 2022, they were presented on the official website of the event the titles competing for the seven categories, to then learn the results in the first days of March after a series of evaluations by the judges involved. After giving proper congratulations to all the artists who have helped make packaged products possible during such a complex time, the website has listed the titles of the competition.
For the category best live action movie The Promised Neverland, Rurouni Kenshin Saishusho The Final and Rurouni Kenshin Saishusho The Beginning were selected. Fight for the title best animated feature film instead they will be Poupelle of Chimney Town, Earwig and the Witch, Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon a Time, and BELLE.
Interesting to show how the live action of Alice in Borderlands, based on the manga by Haro Aso, competes for the program with the best visual effects, while Godzilla Singular Point competes for the anime with the best renderings of the models in computer graphics. As for Star Wars: Visions, a valuable choral project involving seven animation studios, two episodes βThe Duelβ and βThe Ninth Jediβ were nominated for the category best short film.
