March 18th is one of the most important dates for the Dragon ball. In fact, today is celebrated Saiyan Day, the day fans pay tribute to the warrior race created by Akira Toriyama.
The Saiyan race concept was introduced in Dragon Ball Z by Raditz, who suddenly arrived on planet earth and revealed the truth about his birth and origin to his brother Goku or better Kakarot. Since that moment, the Saiyans have accompanied us and given us some of the most iconic moments in Shonen history, such as the transformation into Super Saiyan in the Freeza Saga or the Super Saiyan god in the new Toyotaro series.
Saiyan day it is celebrated on March 18th because in Japan this date means “San-Ichi-Hachi no Hi”, which sounds phonetically similar to the word Saiyan. During this particular party, the community flocked to social media to celebrate the members of the most popular warrior race, from the classics Goku and Vegeta to Broly to the representatives of Universe 6 namely Cabba, Caulifla and Kale. Fans haven’t even forgotten the most abused Raditz and Nappa, or the “half-blood” born from the marriages of the two most powerful Saiyans.
What’s your favorite Saiyan? Did you pay homage to him in a special way? Even us ordinary people can become Dragon Ball Super Saiyans in the fight against COVID-19. Let’s find out when Dragon Ball appeared in PokΓ©mon Red & Blue.
