On the official page for the Chinese animated adaptation of novels by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, Mo Dao Zu Shithe opening sequence was released without credits for the show in Japan with Japanese dubbing. The video shows the band's opening theme CIVILIAN and titled "Senya Souka".

The series premieres on January 10, 2021 in Japan, while the original jump in China took place between July and October 2018 for a total of fifteen episodes. A second season called Xian Yun Pian It premiered in August 2019 and ran for eight episodes. A third season was confirmed in the post-credits scene of the final episode of the second, but no further details have been released since then.

Summary of Mo Dao Zu Shi

Xian - The state of immortality that all cultivators aspire to. Underneath, however, lies a dark energy: the forbidden Mo Dao or demon path. Through an unfortunate series of tragedies, this is the path that cultivator Wei Wuxian encounters while teaching. His rise to power comes with chaos and destruction, but his reign of terror comes to an abrupt end when he was overwhelmed by cultivating clans and he was killed by his closest ally.

Thirteen years later, Wei Wuxian incarnates in the body of a madman and reunites with Lan Wangji, a former classmate of his. This marks the beginning of a supernatural mystery that alone drives the clans and threatens to disrupt their daily lives.
