The second season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is preparing to wrap up with the eighteenth episode, which is scheduled for Sunday February 13, 2022. A series of episodes that featured two narrative arcs present in the manga, a decision considered rash by some ardent viewers.
After seven episodes focused on re-imagining the events that took place on the Mugen train with some interesting original additions to the animated adaptation, the production has created eleven episodes dedicated to everything the path that Tanjiro and his companions experienced alongside Tengen Uzui, in the red light district. Given the intense sequence of fights and fairly important reveals with no scenes or time to process them, many fans said they were against the rhythm with which some fairly relevant sequences were presented.
However, this speed is not typical of Season 2, as similar complaints surfaced at the time of Season 1’s release, even though Season 1 was already released consisting of a total of 26 episodes compared to 18 in the second. It should also be noted that the Ufotable studio had about eleven weeks to create the arc set in the red light district and although the episodes seem few, completely original scenes were created, such as the flashback about Uzui and his three wives, who have appeared in the previous episodes, and overall the quality of the series remains exceptional.
Certainly some key changes and additions, like Tanjiro’s defensive use of Water Breathing or even combining his two techniques, could have received more time and attention during production Attention to Rengoku and Uzuiintroduced the two Hashiras in their respective arcs.
