Peter Parker is about to embark on a terrifying adventure. Among the initiatives Marvel has launched to celebrate Spider-Man’s 60th anniversary, there are actually the launch of Deadly Neighborhood Spider-ManHorror genre miniseries that will scare poor Peter Parker for five issues.
As Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr. prepare to relaunch the main Spider-Man title, rebooting in Number 1, the member of the Black Eyed Peas Taboo will be collaborating with screenwriter B. Earl and artist Juan Ferreyra to narrate a dark tale of Spider-Man set in California.
“Being the first Native American to co-write this new Spider-Man comic with my brother B. Earl is a huge step towards bringing underrepresented talent into interaction with mainstream comic book characters.“Taboo told SYFY Wire.”As a lifelong Spider-Man fan, a childhood dream comes true. I’m grateful to be able to go from collecting toys to writing my own Spidey story, set in my birthplace of Los Angeles, California, more specifically Pasadena. I see all of the opportunities the Marvel family has given us as writers and am deeply grateful for their continued trust and support. We turned their confidence into the fuel that fueled our creativity to create a fun and exciting story for all the awesome Marvel fans!“.
It’s not the first time Taboo and B. Earl have collaborated on the screenplay of a Marvel comic: back in 2020 The two writers were the writers of a miniseries dedicated to Werefolf by Night aka Licantropus, who is expected to debut in a Disney Plus special soon.
In Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man The city of Los Angeles has been invaded by demons controlled by the X-Men villain Demon Bear. It’s not clear what circumstances will prompt Peter Parker to move from New York to the opposite coast of the United States, but it’s certain that it will be up to Spider-Man to avert the terrifying threat.
Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 (of 5) will be released in the United States on June 1, 2022. Below we share the main cover by Rahzzah and cover variants by Peach Momoko, Josemaria Casanovas and Rafael Albuquerque.
