In early June, one of the most anticipated and important events in the industry takes place, Netflix Geeked Week. During the event, the streaming giant will present its future releases, including among the most sought after Cyberpunk EdgerunnerAnime series based on CD Projekt RED’s cult video game.

The annual appointment with the Netflix’s Geeked Week, five days of announcements and presentations. Among other things, there also seems to be Cyberpunk Edgerunners, the Cyberpunk 2077 anime announced two years ago.

In the official trailer for the event, which you can find in the article, Netflix showed several frames of the anime Production at Studio Trigger, formerly responsible for hit series like Kill la Kill, Promare or Little Witch Academia. This is how we think Cyberpunk Edgerunners should be.

According to the information leaked so far, Cyberpunk Edgerunners will consist of one 10 episodes in total and is drafted night city, the same city where the video game Cyberpunk 2077 is set. The plot follows a man trying to survive in a city obsessed with technology and human body modification. With nothing left to lose, he decides to become an Edgerunner, a cyberpunk outlaw mercenary.

The anime is expected to join Netflix’s anime lineup as early as 2022. Lo Series staff includes Hiroyuki Imaishi, Masahiko Otsuka, Hiromi Wakabayashi, and Yoh Yoshinari, each playing the roles of director, assistant director, creative director, and character designer. More information, including a trailer, will therefore arrive during the Netflix event.
