A leak from this year’s 11th issue of the magazine Monthly princess, scheduled for October 6 in Japan, found that the anime adaptation of the manga was written and illustrated by Aya Kanno, Baraou no Souretsu (Requiem of the Rose King), it takes two arcs (that is, two quarters). The information is not yet confirmed and it does not indicate whether it will be issued continuously or separately.
The series was scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2021 (October-December) season, but was postponed to January 2022 in early July of this year for reasons unknown. On the other hand, Kanno started to publish the manga in the magazine Monthly princess from the publisher Akita Shoten in November 2013. The publisher published the fourteenth anthology in September 2020, followed by March 15th on March 16th in Japan.

- Kentarou suzuki (Kud Wafter, Satsuriku no Tenshi) is responsible for directing the anime in the studios JCSTAFF.
- Hiroki uchida (Panzerjagd no Fantasia, Schwarzesmarken, Suisei no Gargantia: Mizuhana no Bellows) is responsible for writing and maintaining the scripts.
- Tsutomu Hashizume (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo !, prison school, Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai) is responsible for character design.
Summary of Baraou no Souretsu
The crown of England has been fiercely contested throughout history, and a series of major civil wars in the Middle Ages are known as the “War of the Roses”. The Duke of York claims the right to the throne and tries to get King Henry VI. and defeat his heir to become king himself. On a dark day full of bad omens, the Duke has a son: Richard Plantagenet, the third of his name. Neither male nor female as he has both sexes. Richard III is immediately rejected by his own mother, so that hatred becomes daily bread in his childhood, which leads him to hate his own body and to be called a “demon” by others.
Richard worries when he has visions of England’s former enemy Joan of Arc who mocks him for ruining anyone she ever meets. Since then, Richard has believed that he could escape his fate by helping his father become king. But will Richard’s actions, cursed by the very low expectations of his mother and Juana, sink his family?
