At Marvel Comics, there is a clash between two supergroups: Avengers and Eternals. It will begin on the pages of Eternals # 10 arriving March 2022 the war between the most powerful heroes on earth and the immortal beings created by the heavenly ones, in a story written by Kieron Gillen and illustrated by Esad Ribić.
At the base of the fight, described as “the greatest Marvel Comics storyline of 2022“, there seems to be the current base of operations for the Avengers, made from the corpse of a heavenly one. In fact, four billion years ago, a heavenly man named Progenitor found death on Earth near the Arctic Circle. At the start of the current Avengers run, the Avengers have decided Using the Progenitor’s body as a base, renaming it Avengers Mountain.
But apparently not all heroes on earth support the Avengers’ decision: “The eternal make a pilgrimage“reads the summary published by Marvel Comics.”Actually, it depends who you ask – because it’s not exactly a pilgrimage … more like a break-in on Avengers Mountain. But what the Avengers don’t know can’t harm them … can it?“.
The cover of Eternals # 10, curated by Esad Ribić, leaves no doubt: in the background we see Avengers Mountain a face-to-face confrontation between Ikaris and Captain Marvel with eye rays. Despite Ikaris’ fate in the Marvel Studios film The Eternals, the character’s presence in the Eternals comic book adventures should come as no surprise, as the film takes a lot of liberties compared to its printed counterpart. By the way, we’ll leave our review of The Eternals to you.
