In the 4×21 episode of attack on Titan One of the series’ darkest secrets has been revealed. During their meeting in the Coordinate, Zeke and Eren come into contact with the ancestor Ymir, the first human to receive the power of giants. However, her story is very different from that of a goddess or a demon.
In Attack On Titan 4×21, the history of the Eldians is revealed, made by wars and conquests. The Eldian army owes much to Ymir, who, with the power of giants, obeyed the commands of King Fritz and led him to gain dominion over the Marleyans. The girl, who is only a slave at first, got her power totally random way.
In an Eldian village, a pig is forced to flee and the crime is blamed on poor Ymir, Slave of King Fritz. The girl escapes into the forest while being pursued by the Eldians, who can’t wait to kill her with their arrows. Struck by two arrows, Ymir collapses to the ground exhausted, resigned to giving up her life.
Here, however, he notes a huge tree in front of her. Entering a crevice in the trunk, Ymir falls into a kind of lake of water, where he begins to sink. someday one strange parasiteresembling the shape of a spine clings to Ymir and gives life to the first lightning bolt to come the power of giants in the world.
Ymir’s parasite will reveal itself again cling to Eren during Attack on Titan 4×21. The origin of the giants is therefore to be found in this strange creature which, by merging with a human, gave rise to a dynasty of giant-men, or the Eldians.
