Shichigahama City in Miyagi Prefecture released the twenty-minute short film entitled Shichigahama from Mitsuketa, based on the March 11, 2011 earthquake in Japan that resulted in a massive tsunami. The anime tells of the lessons learned from this disaster and the rebuilding of the city over the past decade.

Production team
Shichigahama City wrote and produced the animation project in the studios Jichitai AnimeWith Naoya Ishikawa Responsible for writing and monitoring the scripts. Shunsuke morita was responsible for composing the soundtrack while Kawaguchi Industrial Printing Corporation was also involved in the production.

A powerful 9.0 earthquake struck off the northeast coast of Japan on March 11, 2011 at 2:46 pm, and a series of aftershocks followed. Tsunami waves struck Miyagi and other northeastern prefectures, killing more than 15,000 people in the overall disaster.
