Spiritual sequel to Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky, Faith is one of the most successful film sagas of recent years. The third chapter of the boxing film, somehow connected to the world of Japanese anime, will soon appear at the world box offices.
That what Creed associates with Japanese animation? That’s revealed by star Michael B. Jordan, who also takes on the role of director in this chapter of the franchise, replacing the famous Sylvester Stallone.
In an interview with the Total Film portal, Jordan spoke about how the manga series of Hajime no Ippo heavily inspired the in-ring sequences in Creed III. On the other hand, he has shown in the past that he has been fascinated by Japanese cartoons since childhood.
According to the actor in the film, viewers will find many artistic choices influenced by his passion for anime. In particular it is Spokon by George Morikawa Having provided inspiration for the scenes where Adonis Creed is training and boxing with his opponents.
