A press release reported the production of an anime adaptation of the light novels he had written Ren Eguchi and illustrated by Dough, Isekai Hourou Meshi’s Tondemo skill (Cooking at the campfire in another world with my absurd ability), will have an anime adaptation. This is the studios first light novel adaptation project. MAPAdditionally, this would be the first Isekai-themed anime produced by the studios. It is worth remembering that the fact that a story takes place in another world does not make it an “Isekai”, since the protagonist must necessarily be from Earth.
Ren Eguchi Y Dough They began releasing the light novels through the publisher in November 2016 overlapwhile a manga adaptation by the hand of K Akagishi will be published via the digital service Comic Gardo since March 2017 with the same publisher. This is Eguchi’s debut novel, so there aren’t many references to his earlier works.

Summary of Isekai Hourou Meshi’s Tondemo skills
Along with three other heroes, 27-year-old Mukouda Tsuyoshi is whisked away into a fantasy world to save a kingdom from a mysterious threat. However, it quickly becomes clear that Tsuyoshi was accidentally drawn into the summoning ritual. His only ability is “Food Menu”, which allows him to open an interface through which he can purchase and obtain supermarket items related to the food of modern Japan.
Tsuyoshi is expelled from the palace without further ado and sets up his own business in his new world. However, his ability to create delicious dishes unknown in this world soon pays off, even attracting the legendary wolf Fenrir. Fenrir is so taken with the food that the creature immediately makes a contract with Tsuyoshi and becomes his familiar. Accompanied by this whimsical mythical being, Tsuyoshi takes a job as a merchant and adventurer, travels and cooks appetizing meals that never cease to amaze the denizens of this world.
