Dragon Ball is one of those old-school manga where male power is king. There were no female combatants in the saga except for very short stretches and with roles that were not remotely important. Only with the saga of the androids have we seen a woman capable of fighting and really putting the protagonists in crisis.
there blond C-18, Android 17’s twin, is one of the few women who can truly fight, prior to the advent of Kale and Caulifla in Dragon Ball Super. Unlike today’s manga, which always tries to put heroines in prominent roles and stay at the forefront with great powers, Dragon Ball was based on sheer power and with a reference to an all-male audience. So the introduction of the C18 was no joke back then.
Even today, the android is considered one of Dragon Ball Z fans’ favorite women, competing with Bulma, who is still the most recognizable face of the series due to her long affiliation with the group of Goku and companions. Cosplayer Kelly poses with one of the C18’s first outfits in Dragon Ball Z in this cosplay. Black shirt with striped sleeves, blue skirt and stockings and of course very blond hair and bright blue eyes like in manga and anime. Do you know how old C18 is?
