Advertisement for the release of the anime film Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island, which is scheduled to premiere in Japan in summer 2022, Bandai Namco has released a new trailer and two key art. Here are the heroes of the film in action!
A month after the initial information about Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island, Bandai returns to promote the next animated feature in the Tomino-created franchise. A briefing was actually shared on Twitter teaser clip one minute long and shows some excerpts from the film.
With a more modern and CG graphic style, Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island refers to the events that took place in theEpisode 15 of the original anime series Mobile Suit Gundam. In this episode, Amuro Ray and his crew head to an island to hunt down the few survivors from the Battle of Jaburo. However, Amuro has to part with his Gundam on the spot. The island is home to a group of war orphans that former soldier Cucuruz Doan has sworn to defend. 2022 will also be the year of the debut of the new anime series Gundam: The Witch From Mercury.
The film compares the original style to that of the remake. So we see the Gundam RX-78-2 animated in CG as well as a clip of it Battle between Amuro’s Gundam and Doan’s MS-06F Zaku II. The clip was eventually accompanied by two visuals showing the film’s protagonists and the two mechs mentioned above.
Cucuruz Doan’s Island it is not signed by Sunrise. The historic Gundam Studio has closed its doors, but only to be rebranded.
