In 2020, the pages of Black Cat #11 saw the debut of the Iron Cat Armor, an exoskeleton created by Tony Stark that conveniently ended up in the clutches of Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat. In June, Iron Man and Black Cat must work together to investigate the reappearance of this armor in the Iron Cat miniseries.
Consisting of five issues, Iron Cat is being produced by a creative team consisting of screenwriter Jed MacKay and artist Pere Pérez. In his original debut in Black Cat #11, The Iron Cat armor, designed by artist CF Villa, had returned to Stark’s possessionand it is therefore not clear who is hiding under his helmet.
“Curiosity may have killed the cat, but as usual, contentment brings it back. It was very sad to say goodbye to the regular Black Cat series last year, but now the next story arc will have its own series – IRON CAT!“MacKay announces.” LThe popular Iron Cat armor returns… but who’s in it this time? She is certainly not Felicia Hardy as Iron Cat will be looking for her from the start. And it’s a rare treat to have a second chance to pick up a story you thought lost, but I’m so glad to be back with Pere on a new Black Cat adventure!“.
“I’ve been reading the Black Cat Jed series for a while now and it’s great to be a part of this story” added Pérez.”I mean, there’s the heists, the escapes, the fights, Iron Man… You can’t go wrong with that stuff. We’ll also see how some spirits from Felicia’s past will return to haunt her. Felicia and Tony are complete opposites, so you can imagine how crazy it will be when they work together. I can’t wait to show everyone what we’re preparing“.
Iron Cat #1 (of 5) will debut next June. Below we share the different covers presented by Marvel: the main cover, created by Pérez, and three variants by Skan, Ron Lim and John Tyler Christopher.
Recently, Mary Jane briefly took on the role of the black cat in the comics. As for the hypothetical live-action adaptation, fans are imagining Anya Taylor Joy as the black cat.
